Sonam Kapoor speaks out about being molested when she was younger: 'It was traumatising'

Neerja actress Sonam Kapoor has spoken out about being molested when she was younger.Sonam was part of a 'Bollywood roundtable' hosted by journalist Rajeev Masand on CNN News 18, when she made the revelation.Masand had invited actresses like Sonam, Vidya Balan, Alia Bhatt, Anushka Sharma and Radhika Apte — whose performances this year came in for critical acclaim — to be part of a special panel discussion.It was in the course of this conversation that Sonam talked about being molested."I know I have been molested when I was younger, and it was traumatising," Sonam is heard saying in a short, 40-second preview of the 'roundtable' that was released online.Even as Sonam shares her disturbing experience, Vidya Balan — whose film Kahaani 2 dealt with the issue of child sexual abuse — talks about the terrible burden victims have to bear when they aren't believed.
