Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan director Atlee reviews Vijay Sethupathi-Katrina Kaif's Merry Christmas: 'It's a pure classic'

After long anticipation, Vijay Sethupathi and Katrina Kaif starrer Merry Christmas released today at the box office. While the film is riding high on positive word-of-mouth, popular director Atlee known for helming Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan and Mersal, Bigil and Theri with Thalapathy Vijay, praised the romantic thriller and called it 'a pure classic'.Taking to X, Atlee wrote, "#MerryChristmas! I've been waiting to write this one. My favorite narrative of recent times is a beautiful love story with an amazing thriller. @VijaySethuOffl na you were pure class to watch, and the climax performance was woowwwwww. The film emerged as the biggest Bollywood grosser of all time.For the unversed, Merry Christmas is directed by Sriram Raghavan of AndhaDhun, Ek Hasina Thi and Badlapur fame. It also features Ashwini Kalsekar and Radhika Apte in prominent roles. The Hindi version stars Sanjay Kapoor, Vinay Pathak, Pratima Kazmi and Tinnu Anand while the Tamil version features Radhika Sarathkumar,  Gayathrie, Shanmugarajan, Kavin Jay Babu and Rajesh.
