Based on the revered Hindu mythology of Ramayana, Om Raut's Adipurush suffered from crippling heavy losses, turning out to be a massive disaster at the box office. As soon as the film hit theatres, it left fans disappointed on multiple fronts as it failed to meet expectations and drew flak for the special effects, dialogue writing, and casting choices. While the lead actors Prabhas and Kriti Sanon had their own share of criticism from fans, Saif Ali Khan who portrayed the role of Ravana faced massive backlash. The audience didn't seem much impressed with his character being shown in a modern sense. While the lead actors have so far maintained silence over the film's failure, Saif Ali Khan became the recent one to address the same.In an interview with the Film Companion, Saif began by emphasising that he doesn't see himself as a star who can open all sorts of projects. Mentioning his 2019 film Laal Kaptaan, he said, "I am not a star enough to pull off anything."Saif Ali Khan reacts to the failure of AdipurushAddressing his failure in films, the actor said, "It's really nice to be realistic and I never thought of myself as a star and I don't really want to be also. I like being a star, but I don't want to be delusional. My parents are big stars, but very realistic and normal. There's so much more in life to be real about, my focus has always been on that... The idea is not to be scared of failing."Further mentioning his last outing Adipurush, Saif said, "People talk about risks, but if you fail on your face, it's not a risk really. You have to have a few of those also, and it's a part of the approach. You have to shrug it off, feel bad, and say 'Nice try, but bad luck, let's go to the next one'."About AdipurushReleased in June last year, the film which was an adaptation of Ramayana features Prabhas and Kriti Sanon in the role of Raghava and Janaki.
