Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao's 'Laapataa Ladies' opened to rave reviews from critics and audiences and the latest persoanlity to praise the film is Indian cricket's legend Sachin Tendulkar.
He shared a note on X about the film and wrote- "A big-hearted fable set in small-town India that speaks to one at so many levels. I loved @LaapataaLadies for its delightful story, powerhouse performances and the subtlety with which it delivered important social messages so cleverly, without overt preaching."

Laapataa Ladies, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2023, is based on Biplab Goswami’s prize-winning screenplay, Two Brides. Jio Studios and Aamir Khan Productions’ Laapataa Ladies is now running in the theaters and is indeed leaving the masses impressed. The film is successfully grabbing a strong hold at the box office. Experiencing a constant surge in its collection it has now collected a total of 7.49 Cr. gross on the first weekend at the worldwide box office.

With this, the film has earned 4.66 Cr. at the box office in India and collected a 7.49 Cr. gross at the worldwide box office on its first weekend.
