Model actress Poonam Pandey's death has left the entire industry in shock. On Friday, her team stated her social media handle, confirming that Poonam Pandey died after battling cervical cancer in the last stage. Later, her sister also confirmed the news of her death to News18 stating that she passed away late at night. The shocking news came just a few days after she was seen at a public event, leaving fans perplexed.

From her family remaining unreachable over the phone to her ancestral home in Uttar Pradesh being locked away, a lot of mystery has erupted regarding the actress' death. Also, no pictures of her mortal remains are out yet or a statement from the hospital has been issued.

Amid all the speculations among fans, a fresh update has started making rounds stating that Poonam Pandey reportedly died in Pune and not in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Speaking to Pinkvilla, Shivam Sharma, a former Lock Upp contestant expressed shock and disbelief over the death news and said, "We have spent a lot of time together. Now those memories are flashing in front of my eyes. It is quite unbelievable because the reason for her death is cancer. I haven't heard of someone passing away because of cancer, There were no symptoms and she never mentioned it."

Poonam Pandey's mortal remains in Pune

Further sharing a surprise detail, he added that a common friend informed him that Poonam's mortal remains are in Pune while her family is in Kanpur.

"I don't know how her family will plan the last rites. However, I want to send a lot of strength to them," he added.

In the meantime, while fans continue to express shock and extend condolences to Poonam Pandey's family, several celebrities have also shared their reactions. Lock Upp host Kangana took to her Instagram story and wrote, "This is so sad, losing a young woman to cancer is a catastrophe. Om Shanti."
