Netflix's 'Lock Upp Season 2': Riteish Deshmukh blasts a reporter for asking him about Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan's jail terms

Mumbai, June 22, 2026: The countdown to India's most talked-about jail has officially begun! Ahead of the June 27 premiere of Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa, Netflix threw open the gates to its high-stakes reality universe at an exclusive press conference. Bringing together the creative forces or the ‘masterminds’ behind the show and the personalities tasked with running the country's most unpredictable jail, the event offered the media a first look at the drama, strategy, and chaos set to unfold over the coming weeks.

The jailers for this season are Riteish Deshmukh and Farah Khan. When a reporter asked the Raja Shivaji actor if he would like to bring Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan, his close-friends, on the show, since they have had their jail terms, Deshmukh refused to answer the question saying he would not like to give it dignity.

Deshmukh immediately replied, "'l will not bring them as my duty is to host. And as a host, I don't know about the inmates that would appear on the show. Jo bhi guests aate hai Lock Upp mein, unse hum baat karte hai.”

Taking center stage were the creative genius behind the show - creator Ektaa Kapoor, Netflix India's Vice President – Content, Monika Shergill, and the formidable duo stepping into the role of Jailers, Riteish Deshmukh and Farah Khan. Co-produced by Balaji Telefilms Ltd and Colosceum, Malaya Pradhan helms the mantle of the Executive Producer for this captive reality show.

Inmates must complete tasks to earn in-game currency required for basic necessities such as food, supplies, and privileges, turning survival itself into a strategy. But the game’s most volatile currency is ‘truth’. Set in a world where nothing stays hidden for too long, the game tests how contestants navigate revelations that can either strengthen their position or leave them vulnerable.
