Allu Arjun and Alia Bhatt arrive to receive their National awards for Best Actors; watch video

The winners of the National Film Awards 2023 will be felicitated today. Ranbir Kapoor gave Alia Bhatt company for her first National award win whereas Allu Arjun arrived with wife Sneha Reddy. Also clicked were Krit Sanon, Pankaj Tripathi, Karan Johar, and SS Rajamouli.

Best Film: Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, directed by R. Madhavan

Best Supporting Actor: Pallavi Joshi for The Kashmir Files

Best Singers

Shreya Ghoshal wins the Best Female Playback Singer for the song ‘Mayava Chayava’ from the film ‘Iravin Nizhal’. Kaala Bhairava wins the Best Male Playback Singer for the song ‘Komuram Bheemudo’ from the film RRR.

Good cinema gets acknowledged and a pat on the back from a respectful jury always brings joy, filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali said on Thursday after his lavishly-mounted period biopic “Gangubai Kathiawadi” won five National Film Awards, including best actress honour for Alia Bhatt.

Bhansali won two awards — for best screenplay writer (adapted) along with Utkarshini Vashishtha and best editing for the film. The film’s other awards were for best dialogue writer for Vashishtha and Prakash Kapadia and best make-up artist for Preetisheel Singh D’souza.
