The controversial and versatile actress of the entertainment industry, Kangana Ranaut is currently gearing up for the release of Emergency, where she is portraying the character of Indira Gandhi.Recently during the trailer launch of the upcoming movie Razakar: Silent Genocide Of Hyderabad, Kangana Ranaut was questioned if she has any plans to become India’s Prime Minister, to which she laughed and responded, “I just did a film called Emergency. After watching that movie, nobody will want me as the Prime Minister.”For the unversed, in November 2023, Kangana expressed her openness to contesting elections and told a reporter, Shri Krishna ki kripa rahi to ladenge (If Lord Krishna blesses, I will fight).” However, the very next month, she refuted the reports of her entering politics.“‘Emergency‘ is my most ambitious project and second directorial post-‘Manikarnika‘, we have the best of Indian and international talent come together for this big budget, grand period drama,” the actor said in a statement.The movie is inspired by the infamous Indian Emergency and will see Kangana Ranaut essaying the role of the former Prime Minister of India Indira Gandhi. The film will hit the screens on 14th JuneWhy the film was postponedThe Tejas star said given the constant changes in her schedule, they had taken the decision to alter the release date for Emergency, “We have announced Emergency release date as 24th November 2023 but because of all the changes in my back to back releasing films calendar and over packed last quarter of 2024 we have decided to shift Emergency to next year (2024),” she said.With added inputs from agencies
