'Inspector Avinash' actress Urvashi Rautela reveals why she skipped Met Gala 2026: 'Had to be in Mumbai because...'
The actress decided to give the iconic fashion event a miss as promotional activities for the much-anticipated project are currently in full swing ahead of its release

While the world turned its attention toward the glamour and grandeur of the MET Gala this year, actress Urvashi Rautela chose to stay focused on work commitments in India, prioritising the promotions of Inspector Avinash alongside Randeep Hooda.
The actress decided to give the iconic fashion event a miss as promotional activities for the much-anticipated project are currently in full swing ahead of its release.
Speaking about the decision, Urvashi shared, “Yeah, while giving multiple interviews for Inspector Avinash, all the journalists especially kept asking me about the Met Gala. But honestly, I really wanted to dedicate my time here. As we all know, the Met Gala is in New York, and I had to promote my project with Randeep Hooda and Inspector Avinash here in Mumbai through multiple interviews.
In Season 1, my performance was truly appreciated, and Season 2 has also turned out really well. I genuinely can’t wait for the audience to watch it. I really wanted to promote this project because it’s very special to me.
That’s why I’m here in Mumbai promoting the show. At the end of the day, I only have one body and I can’t be in two places at the same time, so I chose to be here for my work and my audience.”
Inspector Avinash, featuring Urvashi Rautela and Randeep Hooda, has already created considerable buzz among audiences. The ongoing promotions and strong anticipation surrounding the release have only added to the excitement, with fans eager to watch the duo share screen space.
Randeep Hooda reprises the role of Inspector Avinash, shares, “This season strips Avinash down to his core. He's not just fighting crime anymore he's fighting for his family, his truth, and his survival. The scale is bigger, the action is raw, and the emotions run deeper. It's a much more intense ride.”
