Indian Idol runner-up Amit Sana accuses Sony channel of biasedness towards Abhijeet Sawant: My voting lines were blocked

Abhijeet Sawant and Amit Sana were the top two finalists in the first season of the singing reality show Indian Idol. Sawant was the winner and Sana was the runner-up. 19 years later, while speaking to Siddharth Kanan in an interview, Amit has made some explosive statements about how Sony channel was biased towards Abhijeet.He revealed, “My voting lines got blocked out two days before the last day. It doesn’t get blocked on its own. A lot of people say that there was some political influence involved during that period of time but that’s all just heresy. I haven’t researched it on my own.”Abhijeet Sawant reactsSpeaking to News18, Abhijeet replied, “He is very naive. I have been to many competitions. There are several reasons why you lose a competition. It is not just one thing. He should not forget that he was the runner-up. It wasn’t like we both were the only talented boys in the show, there were several other talented people in that competition.”The first season was judged by Sonu Nigam, Anu Malik, and Farah Khan. In these last two decades, some of the personalities from the music industry that have judged the show are Javed Akhtar, Udit Narayan, Kailash Kher, Sonali Bendre, Alisha Chinai, Himesh Reshammiya, Vishal Dadlani, and Neha Kakkar.
