London: Actor Russell Crowe will not be reprising his role as Superman's father in the Man Of Steel sequel.The Noah star, who played Jor-El in the 2013 film, was killed off by Michael Shannon's character General Zod but later appeared as a hologram, guiding Superman to defeat his nemesis.[caption id="attachment_1464183" align="alignleft" width="380"]Reuters Reuters[/caption]However, Crowe believes his time as Jor-El - a role previously played on the big screen by Marlon Brando - will not be back for the sequel, because of the new direction the film is taking, reported Contactmusic."I don't think they're going to use me again. I think they're jumping onto a different stream. You know, they're going with the different superhero worlds colliding (this time)," he said.The highly-anticipated blockbuster, which features Henry Cavill reprising his role as Superman and Ben Affleck as Batman, is set to hit cinemas in 2016.PTI
