House Of The Dragon has been one of the most ambitious shows to come out of the landscape of Content in recent times. It’s on the same lines as the iconic Game Of Thrones. The fact that the show has been renewed for season three, and there have been conversations and chatters that it goes to season four as well, shows that some battles never end. The gore and the grandeur continue to quadruple. From epic battles to shocking betrayals, season 2 was a rollercoaster of drama and intrigue. A lot unfolded in the previous season which people may not be able to forget.

What happened in the previous season?

In the opening episodes of Season 2 , the Great Council of 129 AC set the stage for the power struggles that would dominate the season. The intense political manoeuvring and the stark divisions between Rhaenyra and Aegon’s factions were masterfully portrayed, showcasing the complex web of allegiances and rivalries that underpin the Targaryen civil war.

What happens in episode one of season 3?

Picks up right after S2 finale. The Targaryen civil war — Dance of the Dragons — goes full-scale. Showrunner Ryan Condal says it’s “massive” and “unlike anything that's ever been done in television”. Expect the Battle of the Gullet, plus deeper fractures within Team Black and Team Green. The first episode is roughly 72 minutes long. The makers have decided to be as meticulous as possible as far as the fresh season of the show is concerned. They are not going to spoon feed the audience. But they will surely try to ensure they sway them into a world of fantasy that’s darker than the brutal realities of life.
