The Morning Show is real and it deals with the different crises the media is going through and we journalists can relate to it well. The craze for numbers and advertorials to keep the media houses running in times of financial crunches and most importantly it shows the importance of face value more than journalistic knowledge.  All in the name of revenue earned. Sad scene when most journalists are getting demotivated who thought the pen is mightier than the sword.  In the case of The Morning Show too television journalists are feeling sad when their arms are being twisted in the name of number game. And there is nobody to blame, not even the marketing department who are also under tremendous pressure of showing their bosses the revenue that they are able to earn from the shows.Jennifer Aniston as Alex Levy is brilliant. The Morning Show Season 3 continues to show the dirty power play in the newsroom. It’s an intelligent show which carefully depicts the politics in the newsroom and how the newsroom is still filled with predators. Season 2 ended as America’s sweetheart and most loved co-host of The Morning Show, Alex Levy (Jennifer Aniston), battled COVID-19.Here in Season 3 she was supposed to be accompanying tech billionaire Paul Marks (Jon Hamm) on a trip to space in a rocket designed by him. When she realizes that it’s an advertising gimmick, she backs out and vanishes the night before the show. This is a classic case, when some might feel when anchors think themselves to be bigger than the organization. But my question is why are journalists not given the freedom to cover news and do meaningful stories. And that’s exactly what Alex Levy (Jennifer Aniston) questions the editor of the show, how long are we going to be managed by the managers? On the other hand, Bradley Jackson (Reese Witherspoon), the other The Morning Show co-host is shown dealing with her own set of problems. She wants to do meaningful news and has been following up on a story in Texas laws on abortion. The Morning Show shows Jackson talking to a woman named Luna Garcia on the phone and saying, "People have to know what's going on in Texas. It's so important." Bradley Jackson (Reese Witherspoon) wants to highlight the strict abortion laws in Texas. However, the company that she works for is not convinced as this is not considered to be an important piece of news for them when they are running at a loss. This is a show which also depicts the frivolous side of present day television media when all it matters is having a bunch of good looking people where an entire machinery is working towards dressing up the anchors to look drop-dead gorgeous!Rating: 3 out of 5
