Akshay Kumar, Twinkle Khanna, Aditya Thackeray sponsor bio-toilets at Juhu Beach worth Rs 10 lakh

After campaigning for proper sanitation facilities in Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, Akshay Kumar, along with wife Twinkle Khanna and Yuva Sena President Aditya Thackeray, has funded a row of bio-toilets on Juhu Beach.Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials confirmed the news to Mumbai Mirror and said that although the couple has sponsored the toilets, the struggle does not end there. File image.[/caption]The same report states that the two toilets will bring relief to the slum-dwellers and hawkers who had access to a single public toilet until now. The newly built toilets have six seats in total, three for both men and women. Apart from that, a separate row of urinals has also been constructed. All the toilets have been equipped with a bio-digester, making sure that they are clean and suitable for frequent usage. The star couple have reportedly spent a sum of Rs 10 lakh to get the washrooms in place.Interestingly, almost eight months ago, Khanna was trolled on social media for uploading a photo of a man defecating on the beach where she had gone for her morning walk. She expressed her displeasure with open defecation and called the incident a sequel to Toilet: Ek Prem Katha.
