Filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra and actor Vikrant Massey have been garnering praise for their surprise hit of 2023, 12th Fail. After Kamal Haasan, Rani Mukerji, Alia Bhatt and Deepika Padukone, Urmila Matondkar joined the bandwagon to laud the biographical drama based on the life of Manoj Kumar Sharma. The Rangeela actress said that both VVC and Massey deserve the National award for giving this masterpiece.

Taking to X, Matondkar wrote, "Uff yeh film..so so many things to appreciate,cheer and love about it Only @VidhuChopraa could’ve spun a story in such simple n deeply soul searching manner! Outstanding performances by all @VikrantMassey shining the brightest Both him n film are deserving of national awards."

Vikrant expressed his gratitude and responded, "Thank you so much ma’am. I’m a bit tongue-tied and star-struck Been your admirer like millions. But to get your post today surely makes my day. Thank you again."

The actor recently expressed gratitude to the audience in a heartwarming video after 12th Fail completed 75 days of release. The actor said “It has been almost 80 days since our film12th Fail has been in theatres near you. The entire team of 12th Fail will be forever grateful for all the love and respect given to the film,” he said, further urging fans to watch the film and also take the kids to the nearest theatres.

“It is your story; it is our story, and this is a chance to watch our own story on the big screen. Thank you for all the love and all the best,” the actor concluded.
