Volkswagen Polo EV revealed before May Debut, upcoming models to look out for

The EV version of the Volkswagen Polo EV was all set to make its global debut in May, while Volkswagen sought to keep the enthusiasts curios for the new look, a slew of leaks have ruined their plans. Leaked images showcasing the car in its production-ready avatar have been doing rounds over the internet.

The EV Polo closely resembles the ID2all concept that was showcased earlier. The car has a slew of styling changes: the façade has a protruding sealed-off area, as is synonymous with EV vehicles, and a front grille installed in the bumper. The outside rearview mirrors have a conventional design, and the C-pillar-mounted rear door handles from the prototype have been retained.

The interior includes a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display and a 13-inch touchscreen. The new EV will be available in 38 kWh and 56 kWh choices, offering up to 451 km of range. Volkswagen currently has no EV in its lineup, and it remains to be seen whether the Polo nameplate will return as an EV  in India or not. Volkswagen Virtus Facelift

Volkswagen has revealed that a Virtus facelift might be up for launch in India in 2026. Multiple test mules of the vehicle have been spotted lately, hinting that the launch might be around the corner. Expected changes include tweaks to the front façade while the overall dynamics of the vehicle remain the same, some tweaks to the overall silhouette of the car, and a refreshed exterior design. The updated model is expected to be updated with the 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox for the 1-litre TSI engine.

Volkswagen Tera

Volkswagen has been working on the development of an all-new sub-4-meter SUV, named the Tera, for the Indian market. The Volkswagen Tera has already made it to a slew of international markets. The front fascia of the new vehicle features LED DRLs and a large grille integrated into the bumper. Unlike some other sub 4 mtr SUVs, the car has a sloping roofline similar to that of coupes. The car is expected to be offered with a single engine option, which would be the 1-litre TSI turbo petrol. This engine is expected to be available with a 6-speed manual and an 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission option. The launch of the new vehicle is expected around the third quarter of this year.

Volkswagen Golf GTI New Batch

A new batch of the Volkswagen Golf GTI, a CBU (Completely Built-Up unit) limited to 100 cars, was brought in, and they all sold out quicker than expected. Witnessing the rising demand for the sports hatch, Volkswagen has confirmed the launch of a new batch of the Golf GTI in India this year. Beyond these cars, the Taigun is also expected to get a facelift on the 9th of April 2026. The new model is expected to feature subtle exterior styling changes and a new front fascia.
