Jaguar-Land Rover India is all set to launch the Discovery Sport in India on September 2, 2015. The Discovery Sport will be the first in the line of a new family of Discovery branded vehicles and will essentially replace the Freelander in the global market. It uses a 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel engine that is available in two states of tune - 150PS and 190PS. We expect the latter to come to India. The Discovery Sport shares bits of its platform with the Evoque and makes extensive use of aluminium to achieve a lightweight construction. But despite the lighter body, is the Discovery Sport is an SUV worthy of wearing the Land Rover badge? Editor Bertrand D’souza finds out:
