Triumph Motorcycles' 2017 Street Triple 765 revealed; comes in three flavours

Triumph has announced its 2017 version of the Street Triple 765 and it looks fantastic! While it still features that bug-eyed look, there are a couple of design updates. However, a lot more has changed on this street classic and there so much new stuff that Triumph had to build three variants of the Street Triple 765 called the Street Triple S, the Street Triple R and the most powerful of them all, the Street Triple RS.The focus, as always, is on agility, performance and control, and the new range has plenty of them. The design hasn't changed all that much but there are plenty of new and interesting bits like the new LCD instrument cluster that take it from classic roadster to modern marvel.Starting with the Triumph Street Triple S, we get the most basic configuration. This would include the 765cc engine that produces 113PS @11,250RPM. The S variant comes with ride-by-wire throttle control and two riding modes. Coming to rider safety, there's ABS and switchable traction control.[caption id="attachment_357183" align="aligncenter" width="640"] 2017 Triumph Street Triple S[/caption]Coming to the second most powerful variant, there's the Street Triple R. It's less for the casual biker who rides to work and more for the more serious type who also wants to take it to the track and take it a bit further on the road. It too features the same 756cc engine but this one has been tuned to produce 118PS @ 12,000RPM. That's about 11.3 percent more power than the previous model.[caption id="attachment_357176" align="aligncenter" width="640"] 2017 Triumph Street Triple R[/caption]You also get some additional features out here over the S model which include four riding modes, an angle-adjustable full-colour TFT LCD instrument panel that features a 5-inch display, Showa adjustable suspension and Brembo radial monobloc brake calipers. Triumph even has a special Low Ride Height (LRH) version that comes with its own unique suspension system and seating set-up for better rider ergonomics.[caption id="attachment_357180" align="aligncenter" width="640"] 2017 Triumph Street Triple RS[/caption]Lastly we have the most powerful Street Triple variant called the RS. The RS gets a special paint job and indeed is the best-looking one of the lot. It has been tuned for aggressive riding on the road and the track. The Triumph Street Triple RS features the same engine but has been tuned to deliver 123PS of power @ 11,700RPM.You get Brembo M50 monobloc stopped power and fully adjustable Showa forks at the front, while an Ohlins STX40 monoshock takes care of the rear end. The RS also get a total of 5 riding modes with the fifth one being the 'track' riding mode. There's also a lap timer, quickshifter and some grippy Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP tyres to chew on.Price tags for India are not out yet (the website still showcases the older model), but it has been listed for 8,000 pounds as the starting price tag in the UK.
