Spec comparo: Hyundai Creta vs Maruti Suzuki S-Cross vs Ford EcoSport vs Renault Duster vs Nissan Terrano
Hyundai has adopted an interesting method of distributing features across trims without hiking the price of any one trim significantly
With the Hyundai Creta launched, its competitors have something to worry about now. The Creta will be offered at Rs 8.59 lakh for the base petrol variant and the prices go upto Rs 13.6 lakh for the top-end SX(O) diesel. This SUV will face competition from the Duster, Terrano, S-Cross and EcoSport. Hyundai offers an array of trims to choose from which is an interesting approach that allows them to distribute features across trims without hiking the price of any one trim by a significant amount.
In terms of safety, the Creta gets dual airbags right from the S+ trim which is the third of six trims offered. The Ford EcoSport is offered only with three trims with just the top of the line Titanium trim getting dual airbags. The Duster is offered in three trims and only the top end RxZ trim offers dual airbags while the Terrano gets dual airbags from the third trim (of five). A driver side airbag comes as standard on all trims of the Terrano which is not the case with its rivals. The S-Cross comes with dual airbags as standard on all trims but the base Sigma trim.
The Creta gets features such as a 5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth and steering mounted controls right from the second S (GL) trim. It also gets audio-video navigation from the S+ variant while climate control is offered from the next trim upwards. The top of the line SX (O) gets a 7-inch touchscreen, side and curtain airbags. Electronic stability is also available only on the top end trim just like its competitors. Below you will find the technical specification comparison between the Creta and its rivals.
