Royal Enfield Himalayan FI rumoured to launch in May
The new Royal Enfield Himalayan is the most advanced yet featuring a fuel injector as well as ABS.
Royal Enfield is expected to announce the all new Himalayan FI in India by May. The specualtion comes from the fact that the new version has already launched in UK priced at £9,999 (Rs 8.2 lakh approx). The new Himalayan is the most advanced yet featuring a fuel injector as well as ABS (anti-lock brake system). Hopefully the company will launch the FI version in India with ABS.It is expected that the price of the new Himalayan could see an increase Rs 30,000 for the fuel injector along with ABS while the FI onlyvariant is expected to receive a price bump of Rs 10,000. Recently the company hiked the price at about Rs 6,000 as it upgraded the engine to BSIV standard. The off-roader is expected to launch in North American markets as well. And it makes sense because unlike India emission norms are stricter making it mandatory for Royal Enfield to offer Himalayan with fuel injection rather than the carburettor version which is currently selling in India. The engine will remain the same which means the 410 cc single cylinder engine that can deliver 25 PS and 32 Nm torque via a 5-speed gearbox. Shortly after a few months of its launch in India, the bike was recently in the news around reliability and quality issues. Hopefully the new variant will fix those issues.
