QuikrScanner for Cars brings paid vehicle tracking system for owners
The QuikrScanner for Cars service as the name implies has been built from ground up for individual car owners and fleet owners to help them keep track of their cars.

Quikr, one of the bigger classifieds platform in India, has launched its very own QuikrScanner for Cars service. The service as the name implies has been built from ground up for individual car owners and fleet owners to help them keep track of their cars and loved one who drive about in them. The service consists of the QuikrScanner OBD device (a receiver and transmitter of data), the mobile app and the service that connects both of the components with the owner, giving them access to the car's statistics. The QuikrScanner is a plug-in OBD (on board diagnostics) device that the owner of the car will have to plug into the car's OBDII port. Similar to the other devices available in India and abroad, Quikr adds a service angle to it, making it a hassle free alternative.Once plugged in, the owner can simply download the QuikrScanner for Cars app from the app store and then start tracking the car's diagnostics. This would include details like real-time location notifications where the owner can view the actual location and driving path of the car via the app. The app will even track down a particular place of interest and when the alert the owner when the car reaches it.
Other features thanks to the OBDII port include a detailed view of the vehicle's history in terms of mileage and even idle time. The OBD device will even let you secure your car by letting you set up an alarm in case your car is being towed away. And lastly, QuikrScanner for Cars will also let owners prevent breakdowns by keeping a check on the car's maintenance needs. If you were wondering how and why Quikr came up with the idea of building a car tracking service, Atul Tewari, Head of QuikrCars and COO of Quikr, make the company's intentions clear, “After the success of our first QuikrScanner app that diagnoses the health of mobile phones, we were convinced about its use case for cars too. Through a technology driven innovation like QuikrScanner For Cars, we are delivering on car owners’ needs that go beyond just buying or selling. The app, which is like a Fitbit for cars, also addresses elements of safety and security through its various features. Plus, it also enables a one vehicle-many users scenario - eg, data from a single device on a school vehicle can be accessed by all the parents. We are excited about this new step we’ve taken in our relationship with India’s car owners.”All of this is indeed possible thanks to the QuikrScanner server that connects the app and OBD device together. Quikr is now offering the device along with a 1-year app subscription for Rs 1,499.
