Production version of Tata Nexon spied, expect it to launch later this year

Tata Motors announced two new cars at the Geneva International Motor Show last month. While the Tigor is a sedan version of Tata's Tiago, the Nexon is a compact SUV.Recently, the final production version of the Nexon was spotted and it looks a lot like what was shown at the launch event. The spy shots reveal the car's side and rear profile and you can see the black body cladding, turn indicators integrated into ORVMs and alloy wheels. This is said to be the top-end trim.The spotted model seems to be the top-end trim, owing to the presence of alloy wheels. At the back you can see the tail lights, a body-coloured strip along with the Tata logo, a black roof-mounted spoiler and a black area at the bottom of the bumper where the number plate sits. According to reports, the Nexon is expected to come with two engine variants, a 1.2-litre turbocharged Revotron petrol and a 1.3-litre MultiJet diesel. Both engines will come with a manual transmissions and might also be offered in an AMT trim.  Based on the Tata's IMPACT design, the Nexon will be competing in the compact SUV segment, which means it will stand against the Ford EcoSport, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and Mahindra TUV300, among others.
