Maruti Suzuki to launch the new Ertiga in India on October 10
Maruti Suzuki will offer the new Ertiga with the SHVS(Smart Hybrid Vehicle System) 1.3-litre DDis diesel that debuted on the Ciaz

Maruti Suzuki is set to launch the facelifted Ertiga in India on October 10, 2015. The Ertiga was launched over three years ago and has begun to show its age so it was about time that the market leader updated the people mover.
The new Ertiga was showcased at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show in August this year and the Indian model is expected to look the same. The changes to the exterior include a tri-slat chrome grille, chrome accents over the fog lamps, new front bumper and air dam. The side profile is the same, save for the new alloy wheel design. A large chrome strip, with the Ertiga branding embossed on it, runs across the rear end and merges into the red appliques that look like an extension of the same taillights. The rear bumper is also slightly redesigned too.
On the inside, the dashboard design will be unchanged, however, Maruti is expected to throw in additional kit such as Bluetooth telephony controls on the steering wheel, electrically folding mirrors, engine start-stop button and its Smartplay touchscreen, sat-nav system like the unit in the Ciaz and the S-Cross. The rear seat will be 50:50 split foldable for added utility.
The Ertiga will get the same 1.4-litre K-series petrol engine as well as the CNG version. Our source also confirmed that Maruti Suzuki will offer the new Ertiga with the SHVS(Smart Hybrid Vehicle System) 1.3-DDiS diesel engine that debuted in the Ciaz Hybrid. This essentially means that the SHVS Ertiga will be priced lower that the outgoing diesel model as the hybrid engines get Government incentives which are passed on to the customer. The Ertiga could hence turn out as a great (VFM) proposition. It will compete with the Honda Mobilio and the Chevrolet Enjoy. Watch this space for our detailed review of the new Maruti Ertiga.
