The next-gen Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire is expected to launch next month in India.
The Maruti Suzuki Swift has been one of the most popular hatchbacks, and the new generation which has been announced in international markets, looks stunning. However, before it reached India, Maruti Suzuki is reportedly launching the new Swift Dzire next month. The Swift Dzire has been of the highest selling sub-compact sedans in India and it makes sense to bring it before the hatchback. The new version of the Dzire was showcased at the Geneva Motor Show last month. The design is similar to its hatchback version including the front but with extra chrome treatment. It is said to be wider, offering more boot space and will be sportier than its predecessor. The interiors will see an upgrade and Maruti is expected to offer a dual-tone finish dashboard, faux-wood inserts, beige upholstery as well as a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It is also expected to come with dual-airbags and ABS as standard. As for the engine, the Dzire will retain the 1.2 litre K-Series petrol and 1.3 litre DDiS diesel engines both of which will come with a 5-speed manual transmission. The petrol variant will also get a 4-speed auto transmission while the diesel variant will get a 5-speed AMT version. The new DZire is expected to be lighter based on Suzuki's new HEARTECT platform.
