KTM unveils 350cc duke and adventure: Big savings with minimal performance trade-off

KTM India has launched the all-new 350cc Duke and Adventure in India. The slight downgrade in engine capacity will ensure that these enthusiast bikes are now privy to the benefit of the 18% GST rate, helping them be priced lower. The 390cc versions will also continue to be on sale simultaneously.

With the new 349cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engines, the new-gen KTM bikes will be able to churn out 41.5 PS of power and 33.5 Nm of torque. The all-new Duke 390, now called the 350, is priced at Rs 2,77,268 (ex-showroom), while the KTM 390 Adventure 350 has been priced at Rs 2,80,905. This makes the Duke 350 around Rs 62,000 more affordable than the existing 399cc version.

In terms of hardware, the Duke 350 remains largely unchanged. The bike weighs 168 kg and is lighter than the 399cc model, and it also features a lower 80 mm seat height. The bike continues to ride on 17-inch wheels with WP suspension and disc brakes on both ends. A Bluetooth-enabled TFT display is also part of the package.

The Adventure continues to offer off-roading capability with adjustable USD forks offering 200 mm travel and a rear monoshock with 205 mm travel.

Before KTM, Triumph had launched the 350cc version of the Triumph Speed 400. The lineup included the Triumph Speed 400, Triumph Scrambler 400X, Triumph Scrambler 400 XC, and Triumph Thruxton 400.

The revised GST rules for two-wheelers in 2025 state that bikes and scooters up to 350cc will now attract just 18% GST. Premium motorcycles above 350cc will now face a steep hike in GST, rising to 40% from the former 31%. These new prices make the bikes even more expensive for Indian buyers.

At the same time, electric two-wheelers will only attract 5% GST, supporting the government’s aim to shift toward greener mobility.
