KTM teases new Duke range, to be unveiled on 8 November

Austrian motorcycle maker KTM will finally unveil its new range of Duke as it just released the first official teaser video of one the upcoming models. The new range is expected to be unveiled ahead of the 2016 EICMA Motorcycle Show in Italy.While the video doesn’t tell us much about the bikes, you can see the new LED headlamps, as well as the distinguishable engine growl from the exhaust, which could possibly be a twin-cylinder. This could be the upcoming Duke 800 street-fighter which was expected to be in the works. It will have a naked styling and could replace the Duke 690 to go ahead and compete with Kawasaki Z800 and the Ducati Monster 821.As for the 200 Duke and 390 Duke, they will still carry a single cylinder motor. The upgrades will carry a design inspired from the KTM Super Duke, so expect them to be sharper in terms of styling, carrying a new and lighter two-piece frame. They are expected gain a bit of extra power as well as a bunch of new features. Some of the speculated ones include a colour TFT display unit with smartphone connectivity and navigation, a more sophisticated suspension setup with dual function forks with one side handling the compression damping and the other handling the rebound damping.The new Duke 390 will carry the same 373.2cc single-cylinder engine with some tuning and new features like ride-by-wire with riding modes; slipper clutch, side mounted exhaust, LED tail lights, improved engine cooling and new colours. It is also expected to come Michelin tyres ditching the Metzelers. The Duke 200 will use the same orange backlit digital display unit, a more conventional suspension setup and will draw power from the same 199.5cc single-cylinder engine as the current version.Stay tuned for more updates on this.
