Jaguar XE diesel range launched in India starting at Rs 38.25 lakhs

JLR (Jaguar Land Rover) group has announced the new diesel variant of the Jaguar XE sedan in India with a starting price of Rs 38.25 lakhs. The petrol variants were launched in India last year at Rs 39.9 lakhs.The pricing has only been revealed for the base variant while the mid-level Prestige and top-end Portfolio trims have not been revealed. Powering the new sedan is a 2.0-litre Ingenium diesel engine that produces 180 hp and 430 Nm of torque, similar to the the XF sedan and the F-Pace SUV. The four-cylinder unit is paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission.As for the features, everything remains similar as the petrol variants. The XE diesel will be locally assembled at Jaguar’s plant in Pune and the company had started accepting bookings earlier this month.
Rohit Suri, Managing Director, Jaguar Land Rover India Ltd. said, "The XE has been a very successful model from the Jaguar family and with the Jaguar XE diesel, we are confident of further expanding our customer base in the country."
Apart from the XE, Jaguar currently sells the F-Type sports car priced at Rs 1.26 crore, the locally manufactured XF sedan which has a starting price of Rs 47.7 lakh and the F-Pace SUV at RS 68,40 lakhs. Lastly there is the XJ sedan which is priced at Rs 97.2 lakh.
