Renault begins global rollout of India-made Duster, targeting 2 billion euros in export revenue by 2030
Renault India has commenced its international export programme for the India-made Duster. The French automaker has initiated its export operations with a batch of 750 vehicles departing from Chennai Port, bound for South Africa. The company indicated that this initial volume represents the first phase of a broader export strategy, with shipments to additional markets scheduled to begin in the coming months.
These export ambitions have been an integral part of the carmaker’s long-term industrial strategy, which aims to establish India as a key manufacturing and engineering hub for global markets. The company has set a target of generating euro2 billion in annual export revenue from its Indian operations by 2030.
The new Duster is the first model in Renault’s Indian lineup to be built on the Renault Group Modular Platform, a versatile architecture designed to support a range of powertrain options. Production for both domestic and export markets takes place at the company’s Oragadam facility in Chennai, which has an annual manufacturing capacity of 480,000 vehicles.
