Fiat Argo unveiled in Brazil, could come to India in 2018
The all new Fiat Argo is said to replace the ageing Punto and could launch in India by next year.
Fiat Group's Brazilian subsidiary has revealed a new hatchback called the Argo. According to reports, the newly unveiled car is all set to replace the ageing Punto in the Latin American region. The hatchback is also expected to hit the Indian shores by 2018.The Argo is said to be based on the Fiat 326 modular architecture. As you can see from the images the hatchback is quite sporty, just like the Punto, only better. It features red accents on the front and rear bumpers and two-tone alloy wheels. The side profile is somewhat similar to the Punto but gets a strong shoulder line runs through the doors connecting the headlights and tail lamps. The grill on the front has been inspired from the Fiat Tipo which sells in the European market.
There are no images of the interiors, but if they are as good as the outside, then the Argo will be one hot hatch to lookout for.As for the engine, the HGT version features a 139 bhpm 1.8-litre E.torQ engine. The regular versions will feature the 'Firefly' engines in Brazil which range from 1.0 to 1.3-litre. The India version of the Argo is expected to carry over the same engines that were seen on the Punto Evo. Which means we could see the 90 bhp 1.3 multijet diesel and the 68 bhp 1.2-litre FIRE petrol engine.
