Ferrari’s new EV is so fast the brand turned to NASA, here’s what happened

Ferrari is in the pursuit of readying its first electric vehicle, but during the development of the new EV, a certain hiccup in the design process has pushed the Italian brand to consult NASA. LoveFrom, the creative collective founded by Sir Jony Ive, Apple’s former design chief, had to approach NASA to ensure that the rampant acceleration of the upcoming EV does not disturb the passengers.
Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna told a publication in a recent interview that the upcoming EV can accelerate at such a powerful rate that it might be a shock to the passengers’ bodies. To ensure that the impact can be further subdued, the automaker had to reach out to NASA experts and conduct medical studies in addition to working with NASA.
Vigna further added that they wanted to find out what kind of acceleration impacted people. He said, “What is the level of acceleration that is disturbing to people?” Too much acceleration isn’t necessarily a good thing, and he added that it just makes you wait “for the time to stop the acceleration.”
Ferrari Luce Performance Details
Ferrari has revealed some preliminary information about the new EV. The automaker has claimed that the EV would make over 986 hp and will be able to accelerate from 0 to 62 miles per hour in 2.5 seconds, with a top speed of 192 mph.
The Luce is expected to have four electric motors and a 122.0 kilowatt-hour battery. Beyond that, the car would also have independent rear wheel steering and an active suspension system from the Purosangue and F80. Beyond the Ferrari luce, one other car that was so fast that it led to severe impact on drivers health was the Toyota's TS010 CA.
