Bajaj Dominar 400 launched in India: Price tags start from Rs 1.36 lakh

Rajiv Bajaj MD of Bajaj Auto today, finally unveiled a much-awaited motorcycle and a new brand called the Dominar 400. The Bajaj Dominar 400 is priced at Rs 1.5 lakh for the ABS model and Rs 1.36 lakh without ABS (ex-showroom Delhi). Deliveries for the motorcycle start as soon as January 2017.The name Dominar is of Spanish origin and it has a clear and simple meaning, “to dominate”. Now that we have cleared what Bajaj Auto’s intent with this offering is, let’s head on to the design and the specifications.The design looks oddly similar to a Ducati Diavel with a muscular fuel tank. There's an LED headlamp cluster on the front and LEDs for the tail lamp as well.Talking about power, KTM fans will be surprised to see the same 373cc engine mounted onto the Dominar. The engine is single cylinder unit that is oil-cooled and is expected to develop around 41PS of power and will be mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. This is enough for the Dominar 400 to go from 0-100kmph in 8.3 seconds with a top speed of 148kmph.ABS is not a standard feature as earlier rumours suggested. But you do get an all-digital instrument cluster at the handles and a separate LED cluster with indicators that sits on  the tank.
