Apple is not buying McLaren: Report

In what appeared to be earth shattering news with the media even reporting potential angles as to how things will be beneficial for Apple's car. No! Apple has no plans to buy McLaren and we don't think an Apple car may end up looking like one of McLaren's sportscars either. This is because McLaren just confirmed the same!Contrary to what was reported by The Financial Times, (that still stands by its report), a statement first given to Jalopnik, by a McLaren spokesperson confirmed that they are not in talks with Apple, with the following statement, "We can confirm that McLaren is not in discussion with Apple in respect of any potential investment".Jalopnik also spoke to other to another source to confirm the same. The source said that “It’s not true at all. There’s no chatter, there’s no acquisition,”.Soon enough, the BBC also confirmed the same, but added that firm regularly had conversations (that may or may not be related to investments) with a wide range of parties.The BBC goes on to give an analysis stating that McLaren Applied Technologies (not McLaren Automotive) would have been a better alternative for Apple. This would be keeping in mind that Apple would benefit little from racing, but could see plenty of benefits from Applied Technologies' data analytics to analyse traffic situations and the like.
