The Guerilla 450 is a little different from Royal Enfield’s other bikes. It is a streetfighter with neo-retro elements, an obtuse rake angle, and a far-flung seat that could be a nightmare for short riders. The Guerilla sits miles apart from its cruiser siblings that dominate Re's lineup. It’s an aggressive bike that is known for its relentless acceleration.

It would be fair to say that the bike serves a niche segment that seeks the likes of the Kawasaki Eliminator and Z650 RS on a budget. Staying true to its timely update tradition, Royal Enfield will reveal the new updated version of the neo retro streetfighter tomorrow. Here’s an estimate of what’s to come:

A Newer Rear Suspension

Reports suggest that the current rear suspension is a bit too firm for city rides. It is possible that Royal Enfield might change it to a softer, more compliant unit. A tagline in the teaser suggests an upgrade to more road-focused tyres. While the teaser refrains from adding to the stockpile of knowledge any further, speculations add that the bike might also receive meaningful tech enhancements and USD front forks.

Beyond that, the addition of cruise control is a strong possibility, since the bike already runs a ride-by-wire throttle system. Additionally, the bike might also get traction control. To give it a fancy new avatar, the bike might also receive a bi-directional quickshifter and bar-end mirrors; these could be limited to the top trim levels.

Design Tweaks

The design is likely to remain the same. All the neo-retro elements will retain their place; however, it is possible that Royal Enfield might add a bunch of new colors and sportier graphics to refresh the appeal of the vehicle. No major changes are expected in the powertrain. Royal Enfield will retain its 452 cc, liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine, derived from the Himalayan 450. The unit produces about 40 hp and 40 Nm of peak torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox.

Price Expectations

A price increase is highly likely. The current model is priced between Rs 2.56 lakh and Rs 2.72 lakh, and the new version will be priced slightly above these levels. These updates will be based on feedback the company has received for the bike, and rather than a profound restyle, they will focus on improving everyday usability.
