NEET Protests: Indian Students Clash With Police, Agitation In Parliament | Vantage on Firstpost

India's national capital New Delhi and several other regions are witnessing student-led protests over the NEET paper leak that happened in May this year. Several students gathered at Jantar Mantar over the weekend and marched to the Parliament on Monday, July 20. The demonstrators were stopped by police officials using barricades, tear gas and batons. The clashes left several students and some police officers injured. The students are demanding a transparent investigation into the NEET paper leak, better safeguards to prevent future leaks and accountability from the government and institutions, including Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the concerns of students and called the paper leak 'Ghor Paap' which means grave sin. Meanwhile, India's opposition leaders led by Rahul Gandhi staged a protest outside the Prime Minister's residence as protests continued in Central Delhi.
