Samsung unveils 'one-stop personal health assistant' ahead of expected Galaxy Watch 9 launch

Samsung has unveiled an all-new Health Assistant, a fully integrated, one-stop personal health companion designed to help users achieve their health and wellness goals. The new assistant connects important health data with AI-powered insights, allowing users to ask questions about their health while receiving personalised guidance and recommendations.

The app is designed to build a holistic understanding of a user's health by bringing together what Samsung describes as the three pillars of health—sleep, activity, nutrition, mindfulness, and vital signs. It then uses these insights to deliver personalised recommendations tailored to each user's lifestyle and health goals.

Samsung said the Health Assistant has been streamlined to identify patterns and signals that users may otherwise miss. It can offer high-quality recommendations that have been validated by a panel of physicians and certified health coaches, helping users proactively monitor and improve their overall well-being.

New app to work in tandem with Xealth

Samsung said its recent acquisition of Xealth will extend the Health Assistant's capabilities by connecting everyday wellness data with clinical care. The integration will allow users to securely share consented health insights with healthcare providers and care teams at scale.

The beta version of the application is currently available to eligible users in the US. As Samsung prepares for its Unpacked event tomorrow, where it is expected to unveil the Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, the new Health Assistant could further enhance the smartwatches' health monitoring capabilities, as previously hinted by the company.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 9: Expected specifications

According to leaks and rumours, the upcoming Galaxy Watch 9 is expected to be powered by Qualcomm's new Snapdragon Wear Elite chipset.

According to a Notebookcheck report, the alleged Snapdragon Wear Elite SoC has surfaced on Geekbench under the codename Qualcomm Vienna. The chipset is listed with four efficiency cores clocked at 1.96GHz and one prime core running at up to 2.11GHz. It achieved 573 points in the single-core benchmark, 1,069 points in the multi-core test, and 1,459 points in the OpenCL benchmark. The listing also shows 3.5GB of RAM, which is expected to be marketed as 4GB RAM.
