After the launch of the Ace 6 in October last year, OnePlus is now reportedly hard at work on its successor, as revealed by Digital Chat Station on Weibo. The phone is currently in the engineering sample stage.

The upcoming successor to the Ace 7 is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC and feature a 6.78-inch display with “1.5K” resolution. The refresh rate has reportedly not been finalised yet, though it is expected to be at least 185Hz. Additional leaks suggest that the refresh rate could even go up to 240Hz.

The Ace 7 is also tipped to pack a massive 9,000mAh battery with support for 100W fast wired charging. The device was previously rumoured to feature an active cooling fan, and while the technology is reportedly still being tested, it appears that OnePlus has not finalised the decision yet.

If the Ace 7 launches around October like its predecessor, a fresh wave of leaks is expected to surface in the coming months.

The predecessor to the Ace 7 featured an OLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate and was powered by last year’s Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC. It also packed a 7,800mAh battery with support for 120W wired charging.

Another version of the Ace 6, called the Ace 6 Ultra, was launched in December. The Ace 6 Ultra featured a 165Hz refresh rate display and was powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 SoC. It also sported a 6.8-inch screen and an 8,500mAh battery with support for 100W wired charging.
