Amazon's Kindle Android App Store is now available in India

The Kindle Android App Store is now available in India and other countries. To celebrate the launch, of the Amazon Appstore, the company is bringing back its most popular Free Apps of the Day, "Fruit Ninja," along with "Cut the Rope: Experiments." These will be available, for free, on 23 and 24 May, respectively.

Amazon today alsoannouncedthat its new Kindle Fire HD and Kindle Fire HD 8.9 will now be available to customers in over 170 countries for pre-order through Amazon.com. Previously these devices were only available in the US, the UK, Germany, France, Spain, Italy and Japan.

The shipping date is 13 June and customers can place pre-orders on the Amazon site from today itself. However when we tried to place a pre-order for one the option was not available and once again the Amazon site mentioned that it was not shipping Kindle Fire HD to India yet. Neither does Junglee.com appear to have the Kindle HD up for pre-order.

Hopefully this will change soon and the device will be up for pre-order in India too. The Kindle Fire HD 8.9" is available for pre-order starting at $284, while the 7-inch Kindle Fire HD 7 starts at $214.
