Amazon Echo open to Siri, Google Assistant, says Amazon's senior VP of devices

Home Pod was released at this years Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) with its virtual assistant Siri.

In a report by CNBC, Amazon's senior vice president of devices, David Limp, said, "If Apple or Google want to come call, my phone number is out there. They can call. I hope there is a day when that happens. I don't know if I can envision it, but I hope it happens, on behalf of customers."He said that Amazon is open to Siri, the virtual assistant of Home Pod, to be a part of Echo, Amazon's smart speaker.Home Pod was released at this years Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) with its virtual assistant Siri. Unlike its sleeker competitor (Amazon Echo) which comes at a humble price of $179 (roughly Rs 11,519), the HomePod costs $349 (roughly Rs 22,459). Home Pod is capable of doing basic home functions such as switching on the lights using Apple's Home Kit.Known for its exclusivity, Apple unlike its competitors such as Microsoft's Cortana or Google Assistant has a slim chance of joining Amazon. However, Amazon's, Amazon Prime Videos recent tie-up with Apple TV, to stream videos was a surprise coming together of the tech giants at this years WWDC.Amazon has produced various versions of these smart speakers such as the Echo Dot, the Echo Show and the Echo Look apart from the Echo.
