Meta announces new subscription plans for Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp with enhanced creator features
Meta is testing a wide range of new subscription plans across Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Meta AI to expand paid features for users, creators, and businesses globally

Meta has unveiled a range of new subscription offerings across its platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, as part of a broader push to expand paid features beyond advertising revenue. The company also said it is testing new subscription plans for businesses, creators, and Meta AI users.
Under the consumer plans, users will be able to pay $3.99 per month for Instagram Plus, Facebook Plus, and $2.99 per month for WhatsApp Plus. These plans will include features such as profile customisation, enhanced reactions, story insights, custom themes, pinned chats, premium stickers, and other tools aimed at improving personalisation and engagement.
Meta is positioning these offerings as an extension of its existing Meta Verified service, rather than a replacement. While Meta Verified focuses on identity verification, impersonation protection, and account support, the new “Plus” plans are designed to enhance user experience and creator engagement. Features such as custom fonts, app icons, and expanded creative tools are intended to help users grow their presence and better understand their audiences.
Facebook Plus, in particular, is expected to include additional features such as custom app themes, ringtones, pinned chats, and other personalisation options.
New Subscription Framework - Meta One
Alongside these consumer plans, Meta is also testing a broader subscription framework called “Meta One,” which includes offerings for creators, businesses, and Meta AI users. The Meta One Essential plan is expected to cost $14.99 per month and will include benefits such as a verified badge, impersonation protection, and an enhanced link sheet that allows users to consolidate their online presence across platforms.
A higher-tier Meta One Advanced plan, priced at $49.99 per month, will build on these features by offering greater visibility on Facebook and Instagram, including potential boosts in search rankings and feed recommendations. It may also help drive traffic to external websites and shops through improved linking tools on posts, reels, and profiles.
The Advanced tier will also include tools for performance optimisation, content scheduling, multi-user account access, and notifications when content is reused, allowing creators to request attribution for original posts.
Meta is also testing separate AI-focused subscription plans, including “Meta One Plus” at $7.99 per month and “Meta One Premium” at $19.99 per month. Both tiers offer the same core features, but Premium provides higher computing capacity for more complex queries, improved “thinking mode” performance, and enhanced image and video generation across Meta’s apps. Meta AI will continue to remain available for free users with basic functionality.
These AI plans are expected to begin testing next month in markets such as Singapore, Guatemala, and Bolivia, while creator and business-focused plans will be trialled in countries including Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Thailand, and Bangladesh.
Overall, the company said these experiments are part of its broader effort to build a unified subscription ecosystem under the “Meta One” umbrella, combining consumer, creator, business, and AI-focused offerings into a single framework.
