iOS 27 leak reveals redesigned Siri app, new ‘Search or Ask’ AI interface ahead of WWDC
Leaked screenshots ahead of WWDC suggest Apple is revamping Siri in iOS 27 with chatbot-style conversations, third-party AI integrations, and a new “Search or Ask” interface

In the run-up to the upcoming WWDC event, a revamped Siri module has reportedly been unveiled through a slew of screenshots shared by Bloomberg. These screenshots reveal a major makeover for the voice assistant.
With the new Siri application, Mac users will reportedly be able to interact with Apple’s assistant using both text and voice modes. The application is also expected to support back-and-forth conversations, complete with messaging history that users can choose to automatically delete after a certain period. With the new update, Siri is expected to function more like chatbot platforms such as ChatGPT and Gemini.
Bloomberg further reports that saying “Siri” or holding down the power button will trigger the redesigned assistant. Swiping down from the top centre of the iPhone anywhere across iOS 27 will reportedly launch a new “Search or Ask” interface. This interface is expected to showcase Siri suggestions, web searches, and more.

From here, users will reportedly be able to launch apps, start text messages, enter general queries, search through notes, and prompt search results. The results are expected to appear in a rich text card that pops out from the Dynamic Island. Users can then swipe down further to open a chatbot-style conversation inside the Siri app.
Apple is also reportedly working on ways to open up iOS 27 to third-party AI agents installed through the App Store. Siri has allegedly been tested with integrations for Google Gemini and Anthropic-powered AI features. Users may soon be able to route queries directly to outside AI services from the “Search or Ask” interface.
Beyond these integrations, Siri is also expected to be integrated into the Camera application and a standalone Siri chatbot app. The chatbot app reportedly resembles offerings from apps such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude.
The Camera app could also become more customisable in iOS 27, with a new “Add Widgets” feature panel that would allow users to pin specific tools and controls. The leaked illustrations also suggest the arrival of AI-powered grammar-checking tools and photo-editing add-ons.
