‘India leading the digital revolution’: Bill Gates praises Andhra’s AI push during Amravati visit

Microsoft founder and Gates Foundation chairman Bill Gates on Tuesday hailed Andhra Pradesh's rapid development, saying it was exciting to see the state's growth being accelerated through AI and technology.

Microsoft founder Bill Gates arrived in Andhra Pradesh on Monday to discuss the implementation of various projects, supported by the Gates Foundation. He met with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan and senior officials of the Government of Andhra Pradesh.

Following the visit to the state, Gates shared his admiration for the southern state’s innovations across health, agriculture, and education. 

Taking to his X, Gates wrote, “Thank you for the warm welcome, N Chandrababu Naidu. It’s exciting to witness Andhra Pradesh’s growth being accelerated through AI, technology, and innovations across health, agriculture & education.”

Gates engaged in several activities on Monday in the city of Amravati, beginning with an interaction with the CM of the state and others reviewing their preparations amid AI evolution. The tech giant called India the leading global digital revolution. 

He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Naidu for their key role.

He also heaped praises on Naidu for his long-term vision, saying a majority of IT experts, including many at Microsoft, are from the Telugu states.
