When I first heard about the device, I expected it to be chunky. After all, it is essentially a PC with an in-built battery packed inside a keyboard. My initial assumption was that it would not be easy to carry around. Surprisingly, that was not the case. The device felt light, sleek and far more practical than expected.

HP is positioning the EliteBoard as a clutter-free computing solution, and honestly, that description feels accurate after seeing it in person. At first glance, it looks like a regular wireless keyboard, but it actually functions as a full-fledged Copilot+ PC running Windows 11 Pro for Business.

By both look and feel, the device appears built for multitasking. While we did not get enough hands-on time to properly test its performance, the keyboard itself left a good first impression. The keys are well-spaced, comfortable and satisfyingly clicky in a way that keyboard enthusiasts will appreciate.

Overall, my first impression of the device was genuinely positive. More importantly, the idea behind the EliteBoard G1a AI PC feels practical rather than experimental. It does not come across as a gimmick at all.
