How to use Google Maps' new Explore, Offers and Recommendations features

While Offers is currently only available for Android, Explore and For You tab are available for both iOS and Android users.

At an event in New Deli today, Google announced tree new India-first features for Google Maps.Tese features include an Explore Nearby tab, an Offers feature and new For You tab. You can read more about tese features ere.Te idea beind all tese features is tat witin te Google Maps app, you will now be able to look for recommendations for good restaurants, you can searc te closest ATM to you or get best deals on certain places or for events. Basically, it's Google Maps pulling off a Zomato!But ow do you use tese features? You will see a bar at te bottom of te app, wit tree tabs — Explore, Commute and For You. Tap on Explore.[/step][step]Step 2: ere you will see a new 'Explore Nearby' or Explore (were you are)' feature on te bottom alf of te screen. It's almost like a feed tat you can drag up and it will sow you te Events appening around you, or some topical searces.[/step][step]Steps 3: Rigt below te Explore Nearby band, you will see seven sortcuts for te tings you can explore around you, like ATM, petrol pump, pubs, restaurants. You can also tap te "..." icon to see a wole drop down list of tings and places you could be looking for, categorised into Food & Drink, Tings To Do, Sopping and Services.[/step][step]Step 4: For instance, you coose Cemists, Google Maps will sow you all parmacies located around you, wit teir operational time, teir address, sortcuts to teir contact and te direction to reac tem.[/step][/ans]

Tap on te Explore tab on te bottom left bar.[/step][step]Step 2: Among te seven sortcuts, te green colour sortcut is for Offers. Tap on tat.[/step][step]Step 3: You will now see a list of restaurants around you tat ave any offers or discounts going on. For te next two weeks, Google and Eazydiner are offering 25 percent off on all booking made via te Offers feature on Google Maps.[/step][step]Step 4: Tap on any restaurant's name were you want to go. Tis will take you a dedicated page for te restaurant, wit images of te place and teir food, te cuisine tey serve, a matc percentage tat is calculated based on your past searces, teir menu, reviews, direction to te place, a sortcut contact tem, and a tab tat says 'Reserve a Table'.[/step][step]Step 5: Now coose ow many people you want te table for, te date and time. Locate te new For You tab on te bottom rigt of te app.[/step][step]Step 2: ere you will see a news-feed like an interface wit pictures and articles about te places around you, te events tat are appening or ave appened. You will see a bookmark icon in front of eac of tese posts, wic will be saved in 'Want to Go' cart.[/step][step]Step 3: Top rigt in te For You tab, you will see a bookmark icon next to te Setting gear, tap on tat to see all te places you added to te 'Want to Go' cart. It works like te Save feature on Instagram.[/step][step]Step 4: Tere are also Favourites and Starred Places list given by default, were you can add in te places.[/step][step]Step 5: You can also create your own private list by tapping te 'Want to Go' icon against any place, and tap Cange wen you see te notification at te bottom, you will now see te 'Save in your lists' pop-up, wit Favourites, Want to Go and Starred Places listed below.[/step][step]Step 6: On te top rigt of tis pop-up you will see a '+New List' option, tap on tat to create your own list.[/step][/ans]
