Google AI Mode expands beyond search with Canva, YouTube, Instacart integrations
Google AI Mode can now connect with apps like Instacart, Canva, and YouTube to complete tasks directly from Search.

Google has announced that users of AI Mode can now connect and interact with some of their preferred third-party apps directly within the conversational search experience. At launch, the supported apps include Instacart, Canva, and YouTube.
With this update, Google aims to expand AI Mode beyond simply answering questions by enabling it to complete tasks across apps that people use regularly. The company is also hoping users will increasingly rely on AI Mode for activities such as planning, shopping, and everyday productivity. The rollout brings Google's offering closer to rivals such as OpenAI's ChatGPT and Anthropic's Claude, both of which already support third-party integrations.
The feature is currently rolling out to users in the US. Google said it is working with additional partners and plans to add support for more applications in the near future.
The announcement builds on a capability introduced earlier this year at Google I/O, which allows users to connect third-party apps to the Gemini app to complete tasks. Supported integrations include Canva, OpenTable, Spark, Instacart, and several others.
Google has steadily expanded AI Mode since its launch in early 2025. Most recently, the company introduced a feature that lets users check whether an item is in stock at a nearby store. It also added the ability to browse the web alongside AI Mode, enabling users to compare information across websites and ask follow-up questions while preserving the context of their search.
To demonstrate the new integrations, Google showed how users planning a party can create a shopping list in AI Mode, connect their Instacart account, automatically add the required ingredients to their cart, and seamlessly complete the purchase through the Instacart app or website.
