Samsung Galaxy Fold 8, Fold 8 Ultra, Flip 8 launched in India: Top specs, price and more
Samsung has recently unveiled its next-gen foldable lineup, featuring the Galaxy Fold 8, Galaxy Fold 8 Ultra and Galaxy Flip 8. Moreover, the company has also launched two new wearables, the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 and Galaxy Watch 9. While it is a huge lineup to launch in a single day, we break down the details of every device here.
Samsung Galaxy Fold 8 and Flip 8 series is now in town, and not just with its regular foldables. The company has added a new entry to the series, the Galaxy Fold 8. It may be confusing, but the arrangement of the devices is as follows:
- The Galaxy Fold 8 is a new form factor, positioned between the traditional Flip and the Fold.
- The Galaxy Fold 8 Ultra is the updated foldable device, which turns into a tablet when unfolded.
- The Galaxy Flip 8 is Samsung's compact flip-style foldable.
While we will discuss these devices in more detail in a bit, Samsung did not stop with the smartphone launches. The event also saw the introduction of two new smartwatches in the portfolio: the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 and the Galaxy Watch 9.
Samsung Galaxy Fold 8 Ultra, Fold 8 and Flip 8: Price and availability
While the India pricing is not confirmed yet, here is the European pricing of the devices.

Design and display: Samsung has not changed the design significantly but has worked on making the phone slimmer. The Galaxy Fold 8 Ultra is 4.1mm thin when unfolded. The rear panel features a triple-camera setup housed in a pill-shaped island.
According to the company, the flagship has the biggest display so far and is 20 per cent brighter than its predecessor, the Fold 7.
Samsung also highlighted that the device uses a new technology, Flex Titanium, which made all of this possible. The device features an 8-inch inner display and 6.5-inch cover display.
Processor: The phone packs a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC. Out of the box, the device is powered by One UI 9, based on Android 17.
Camera: The Fold 8 Ultra gets a major upgrade in the camera department. The phone carries a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera, up from 12 megapixels. The primary camera remains unchanged at 200 megapixels.
Battery: The Samsung Galaxy Fold 8 Ultra is the first device to carry a large 5,000mAh battery, the company claims.
Samsung Galaxy Fold 8: Top specs and features
Design and display: The new entry in the series follows Samsung's signature design language. The Galaxy Fold 8 features a dual-camera setup on the rear and a hinge etched with Samsung branding. The selling point here is the ratio game that the company wants to play. The device comes with a 7.6-inch inner display, and a 5.5-inch cover display.
The company claims that the device comes with the brightest display on any Samsung foldable and is the world's lightest foldable, weighing just 201g.
Interestingly, the Fold 8 shares the same display technology as the Fold 8 Ultra.
Processor: Under the hood, the Galaxy Fold 8 features the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset.
Camera: The device houses a 50-megapixel primary rear camera and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera. On top of that, the company has introduced a few AI-powered camera features, including My Fan Cam.
This AI feature lets you crop a video into whichever aspect ratio you want. I am hoping the resolution will be taken care of by the AI.
Battery: The phone packs a 4,800mAh battery, coupled with 45W charging speed.
Samsung Galaxy Flip 8: Top specs and features
Display and design: The Galaxy Flip 8 also follows the footsteps of Samsung's traditional design. That said, the flip-style foldable is the thinnest and lightest Flip ever in the Samsung universe.
The phone features a 4.1-inch cover display and a 6.9-inch foldable main screen.
Processor: The device is powered by Samsung's in-house chipset, Exynos2600.
Camera: It sports a 50MP primary sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, and a 10MP front-facing camera located on the inner display.
Battery: Under the hood, the Flip 8 packs a 4,300mAh battery, matching its predecessor.
Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2: Top specs and features
Samsung introduced the Ultra watch series last year, and now it is time for an upgrade. According to the company, the Watch Ultra 2 is aimed at athletes. Powered by the Snapdragon Wear Elite, the Ultra 2 adds several new sports-focused features.
The Watch Ultra 2 also features a huge 800mAh battery, which is claimed to last for up to 60 hours even with the Always-on Display enabled. This battery update is 35 per cent higher than its predecessor.
It also features the world's first 5,000-nit display, which means it is bright enough even under direct sunlight.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 9: Top specs and features
This smartwatch is targeted at people who like to keep a check on their health. It features a 300mAh battery.
Keeping health tracking in mind, Samsung has also introduced a few new health features to the watch. These include Vitals and Heart Health Score.
