Today we look at the best midrange phones of 2025. The midrange category has become quite broad over the years, currently ranging from Rs 30,000 to Rs 60,000. Time to meet the best smartphones in that price bracket released over the past twelve months.

Best phones of 2025 under Rs 60,000

Vivo X200 FE 5G

Surprisingly and gladly, we have quite a few (relatively) compact phones in this list, starting with the Vivo X200 FE 5G. Despite its compact footprint, it ticks a lot of boxes and is arguably the best camera phone in this segment. It is powered by a potent Mediatek Dimensity 9300+ SoC with up to 16 GB RAM and 512 GB storage in this budget. This phone has a 10-bit 6.31-inch HDR10+ compliant LTPO AMOLED display with a resolution of 2640 x 1216 pixels and 120 Hz refresh rate. It can get up to 5000 nits bright.

If you are looking for the most powerful compact phone in this segment, look no further than the OnePlus 13s powered by Qualcomm’s previous flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite chip that is still amply powerful for almost anything. It is accompanied by 12 GB RAM and a choice of 256 GB or 512 GB UFS 4.0 storage. The phone feels great in hand with oodles of style and a couple of soothing colour options. Despite its compact footprint, it flaunts a sizable 5850 mAh battery that can last two full days of moderate use. The bundled 80W fast charger can take it from empty to full in about an hour. An IP65 rating makes it dust and splash resistant. 

The Alert slider has now been replaced by a handy Plus button that can be customised to accomplish different tasks. The OnePlus 13s is fitted with a sharp 6.32-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a resolution of 2640 x 1216 pixels and Crystal Shield Glass. The HDR10+ and Dolby Vision compliant screen supports 10-bit colour depth, 120 Hz refresh rate and 1600 nits peak brightness. The phone now runs OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16, and OnePlus has promised four major Android updates and six years of security updates for this phone.

Though it’s a very good all-round phone, we wouldn’t recommend the 13s for serious photography enthusiasts as the camera department here is decent but not great. You get two cameras at the back comprising a 50MP primary with OIS and a 50MP telephoto that offers a modest 2X optical zoom, which helps in portrait photography as well. You get a quality 32MP selfie camera up front with auto-focus. A notable absentee here is an ultrawide camera; a questionable decision on OnePlus’ part. 

Best phones of 2025 under Rs 50,000

Google Pixel 9a

Incidentally, here’s another compact phone and this one offers the cleanest Android experience. The Google Pixel 9a is powered by the company’s previous flagship Tensor G4 chip that also powers the entire Pixel 9 series, coupled with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage. The chip has matured well over time and so has the software. You get the purest version of Android 16 with the Material You 3 design language and AI tricks, and Google has promised six more major OS updates for this device, which is great.

Pixel phones are also known for their camera quality, and the Pixel 9a is arguably the best under 50K this year. It captures some high quality shots, courtesy of a 48MP primary camera with OIS and a 13MP ultra-wide camera with 120-degrees FOV. They do a great job in different lighting and modes. The 13MP front camera clicks some neat selfies too. The phone has a sharp 6.3-inch Full HD+ P-OLED HDR display with 120 Hz refresh rate and 2700 nits peak brightness. The phone also has IP68-rated ingress protection.

Best gaming phones of 2025 under Rs 40,000

Poco F7 5G

We now shift our focus to the best gaming phones of the year under 40K, and there’s a tie between the next two phones on this list. The Poco F7 5G is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 SoC with 12 GB RAM and 512 GB UFS 4.1 storage. It has a vibrant 6.83-inch AMOLED screen with 1.5K resolution and support for 12-bit colour, 120 Hz refresh rate, 3200 nits peak brightness and HDR10+ and Dolby Vision compliance. It has a massive 7550 mAh battery for extended gaming sessions, and the bundled 90W turbo charger juices it up briskly.

The phone also supports reverse wired charging and can be used as a powerbank to charge smaller devices like wireless earphones. Though it is largely targeted at gamers, the photography department here is more than decent and comprises a 50MP primary camera with OIS and an 8MP ultra-wide shooter at the back, with a 20MP front camera taking care of selfies and video calls. The phone launched with Android 15 with Xiaomi’s HyperOS 2, with more updates expected. The Poco F7 5G has IP68-rated ingress protection.

iQOO Neo 10

The iQOO Neo 10 is another equally good option for gamers. Like the Poco F7, this too is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 SoC, and you get up to 16 GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512 GB UFS 4.1 internal storage with it. It can support up to 144 FPS in gaming and has a large vapour chamber cooling to keep things comfortable during long gaming sessions. The phone hosts a large 7000 mAh battery that can power extended hours of gaming and last well over two days of moderate use. The bundled 120W fast charger can recharge half of it in under 20 minutes.

The iQOO Neo 10 has a 6.78-inch 10-bit OLED HDR display with 1.5K resolution, 144 Hz refresh rate and 5500 nits peak brightness. Just like the Poco, photography is handled by two rear cameras consisting of a 50MP primary camera with OIS and an 8MP ultra-wide snapper.
