Apple gears up for Its biggest hardware refresh across iPhone, Mac, iPad and Apple Watch

With its WWDC developer conference now behind it, Apple is gearing up for a packed product roadmap over the next 18 months. While reports suggest several devices were pushed back due to delays in rolling out the company's revamped Siri experience, Apple is still expected to unveil a wide range of new hardware beginning in the second half of the year.

Beyond the customary September refresh of the iPhone and Apple Watch lineup, the company is also expected to debut its long-rumored smart home hub. Apple is further preparing to launch its first foldable iPhone, refresh the Apple TV, HomePod, and HomePod mini, and introduce a redesigned MacBook Ultra featuring an OLED display, which is currently expected to arrive in late 2026 or early 2027.

iPhone Lineup

Apple's 2026 iPhone lineup is expected to introduce several notable upgrades across its premium models. The iPhone 18 Pro is rumored to feature Apple's next-generation A20 Pro chip, a smaller Dynamic Island, a redesigned Camera Control button, a new Dark Cherry color option, and a variable aperture for at least one rear camera. It is also expected to debut Apple's C2 modem, which could enable satellite-backed 5G connectivity.

The iPhone 18 Pro Max is expected to offer the same set of features, although reports suggest it could feature a slightly thicker chassis, as revealed in the  recently leaked drop test video.

Apple is also widely rumored to unveil its first foldable smartphone, which may be branded as the iPhone Ultra. The device is expected to feature a 7.7-inch foldable inner display, a 5.3-inch outer display, dual rear cameras, a single front-facing camera, and a Touch ID-enabled power button instead of Face ID. iOS 27 is also expected to include interface optimizations tailored for foldable devices, including enhanced multitasking with side-by-side apps.

Apple Watch

Apple's smartwatch lineup could receive iterative hardware upgrades in 2026. Both the Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 are expected to be powered by the S11 chip or a newer processor. Reports also point to possible design refinements, including the addition of Touch ID and expanded health monitoring capabilities, although these features remain disputed.

The Apple Watch Ultra lineup may also gain new satellite-powered features, including Apple Maps over satellite connectivity.

iPad

Apple is expected to refresh its entry-level iPad with either the A18 or A19 chip, bringing Apple Intelligence support to the device.

The next-generation iPad mini is rumored to receive a more substantial upgrade, including an OLED display, an A19 Pro or A20 Pro chip, a vibration-based speaker system, and improved water resistance.

Mac

Several Macs are expected to receive next-generation Apple silicon. The Mac Studio is rumored to transition from the M4 Max and M3 Ultra chips to the M5 Max and M5 Ultra, while the Mac mini is expected to move from the M4 lineup to the M5 and M5 Pro processors.

Apple is also expected to refresh the iMac with the M5 chip and introduce new color options.

On the notebook front, Apple is rumored to launch a new 14-inch MacBook Pro powered by the M6 chip. Reports also suggest the company is preparing a major redesign of its high-end laptop, potentially branded as the MacBook Ultra, for late 2026 or early 2027. The redesigned model could feature an OLED display, touchscreen support, a Dynamic Island, a thinner chassis.

Home Devices

Apple is also expected to expand its smart home portfolio. A new Apple TV is rumored to feature the A17 Pro chip, Apple's N1 networking chip with Wi-Fi 7 support, and a more personalized version of Siri.

Apple is also reportedly developing a refreshed full-sized HomePod with the revamped Siri experience, as well as an entirely new Home Hub. The smart home hub is expected to feature a 6-inch to 7-inch square display, an A18 chip capable of running Apple Intelligence, FaceTime support, and the flexibility to be placed on a tabletop or mounted on a wall.
