Apple iPhone 18 Pro launch is just two months away, and we may already know how much it could cost in India
Apple's iPhone 18 Pro launch is expected in September, and leaks suggest buyers may have to pay more this year. From a possible price hike in India to a faster 2nm chip, slimmer Dynamic Island and camera upgrades, here's everything currently rumoured about Apple's next premium flagship.

If you are also eyeing the next-generation iPhone 18 Pro, let us tell you, you are in for a hefty price. Apple's flagship launch is still around two months away, but the rumour mill has already painted a fairly clear picture of what Indian buyers can expect. The biggest talking point so far isn't a flashy new feature or its designe—it's the price tag.
Multiple leaks suggest Apple could increase the starting price of the iPhone 18 Pro in India by around Rs 5,000 compared to its predecessor. While nothing is official until Apple takes the stage in September, reports are increasingly pointing towards a modest but noticeable price hike, driven largely by rising component costs and the industry's growing appetite for AI hardware.
iPhone 18 Pro: India price
According to several reports, the iPhone 18 Pro could start at around Rs 1,39,900 for the base storage variant in India. If that happens, it would be roughly Rs 5,000 more expensive than the iPhone 17 Pro at launch.
Those wanting more storage may have to stretch their budget even further. One report claims the 256GB model could cost around Rs 1,44,900, while the larger iPhone 18 Pro Max is tipped to start at approximately Rs 1,54,900.
The expected increase isn't entirely surprising. Memory chip prices have climbed sharply over the past year due to booming demand, particularly from companies investing heavily in artificial intelligence infrastructure. Apple has also revised prices for products such as the iPad Air and MacBook Air in India recently, making a similar adjustment for the iPhone lineup seem plausible.
iPhone 18 Pro: India launch
If Apple sticks to its usual calendar, the iPhone 18 series should debut in September, with the launch event expected in the first half of the month. Pre-orders are likely to begin within days of the announcement, followed by retail availability shortly afterwards.
Although Apple has remained silent about the upcoming lineup, leaks surrounding the devices have become increasingly consistent, giving fans a reasonable idea of what to expect before the official unveiling.
iPhone 18 Pro: What is coming
While the overall design may feel familiar, Apple is reportedly planning a series of meaningful refinements.
The iPhone 18 Pro is expected to retain its 6.3-inch display, while the Pro Max could continue with a 6.9-inch screen. Instead of changing the display size, Apple may reduce the size of the Dynamic Island by as much as 35 per cent, giving users more usable screen space.
Under the hood, the biggest upgrade is expected to be Apple's new A20 Pro chip, reportedly built using TSMC's cutting-edge 2nm process. The new processor is rumoured to deliver performance improvements of up to 15 per cent, while boosting power efficiency by as much as 30 per cent over the previous generation.
The phones are also expected to ship with iOS 27 out of the box. Apple's next software update is likely to lean heavily on Apple Intelligence, with Siri expected to receive one of its biggest upgrades yet. Early reactions to the public beta have been largely positive, and Apple is expected to showcase additional AI-powered capabilities during the iPhone launch event.
Photography enthusiasts may also have something new to look forward to. Rather than completely redesigning the camera hardware, Apple is reportedly testing a manual variable-aperture system for the primary sensor. The feature would allow users to adjust how much light enters the camera, offering greater creative control across different lighting conditions.
There are also whispers of a larger battery for the Chinese variant of the iPhone 18 Pro Max. Tipster Ice Universe claims it could pack a 5,500mAh battery, which may result in a slightly thicker body measuring around 9mm and a weight of roughly 240g.
As always, these details remain based on leaks and industry reports. Apple will have the final word when it officially unveils the iPhone 18 lineup later this year.
