Anthropic expands Mythos access to 150 more organizations across 15+ countries

Anthropic has announced that Project Glasswing is being expanded to an additional 130 partners across more than 15 countries as organizations test Mythos for software vulnerabilities. The startup added that the expansion includes industries that were underrepresented during the initial launch, such as power, water, healthcare, communications, and hardware.

New partners will be required to meet specific security standards before gaining access to the model.

A blog post from Anthropic stated, "This expansion is the next step toward our long-term goals: for AI to make all software more secure, and for us to help the industry adjust to how AI could change many of the core assumptions of cybersecurity."

The Mythos expansion comes a day after the AI lab announced that it would begin offering access to Mythos in the European Union. On Monday, the company also confidentially filed its IPO paperwork with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

Anthropic initially rolled out Mythos to 50 partners amid concerns over the model's advanced cybersecurity capabilities. Critics had warned that while such capabilities could strengthen defenses, hackers might also use Mythos to identify and exploit software vulnerabilities more quickly.

These concerns sparked widespread debate, prompting the White House to hold multiple meetings with major technology companies and financial institutions to discuss the safe deployment of advanced AI systems in the era of Mythos.

Since its launch, Anthropic says Project Glasswing partners have uncovered more than 1,000 critical software flaws. The company estimates that a large-scale cyberattack could affect more than 100 million people.

Key participants in Project Glasswing include Apple, Nvidia, Microsoft, CrowdStrike, and Palo Alto Networks. While Anthropic confirmed that additional companies have joined the initiative, it did not disclose their identities.
