Amazon brings Kindle Fire HD to India at Rs 15,999, available from 27 June

A release by the company said that the 7-inch tablet would be available for Rs 15,999 while the larger 8.9 inch tablet would be on sale for Rs 21,999.

The combination of the leading apps, the largest book selection, great email and browsing and top rated customer service, we hope our customers in India will agree that Kindle Fire HD is the best tablet for a great price," Amazon Kindle vice-president Dave Limp said in the media release.The devices will be on sale from 27 June.The company added that apart from the Kindle HD series, they would also introduce the Kindle Paperwhite (with or without 3G), for Rs. 10,999. Amazon is also offering a free email alert service to let prospective owners know when the devices are in stock.The company's regular Kindle device is currently available online for Rs 5,999.
